On Friday, Dec 6th we visited the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. It is huge and sits on 145 acres and has more than 50,000 plants in its collection. The Garden has five thematic trails that exhibit cactus and succulent species from around the world. It has been opened since 1939 and has an amazing collection of desert plants.
We went to see the Exhibit of Chihuly in the Garden opened from Nov 10 to May 18. So excited that we just happened to be here at this time to view the magnificent glass sculptures throughout the Garden. Dale Chihuly was born in 1941 in Tacoma, Washington. In 1965, he enrolled in the first glass program in the country, at the University of Wisconsin, and in 1968, he went to work at the Venini glass factory in Venice. His work is included in more than 200 museum collections worldwide.
