Cleveland, Ohio

Arrived in Cleveland on August 22nd until August 29th, and we were met by Bruce and Karen, who took us back to their beautiful house in Broadview Heights. Karen and Bruce went out of their way to entertain us while we were in Ohio. And to our surprise Cleveland has grown a lot since we left 4 years ago. Our first night we went to Bar 32 located high atop the Hilton Hotel in downtown Cleveland with expansive views of Lake Erie. Then off to the Flats to enjoy dinner at the Collision Bend Brewing Company seated outside looking over the Cuyahoga River. We did a fun bike ride on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath toward downtown Cleveland, stopping to explore the scenery along the path to Tremont, where we ate breakfast at Lucky’s Cafe. Finally we went to a Cleveland Indians game at Jacobs Field, but first we had drinks at the Azure Rooftop Lounge in The 9, with iconic views of the city. We brought the Indians good luck because they won, it was a great game! Thanks Karen and Bruce for a wonderful and exciting stay with you in your hometown of Cleveland. Click on thumbnail to view images

Weekend wit Eric in Columbus, Ohio

Eric

Cheers!!

On Thursday, Oct 15th, we arrived in Casa Grande, AZ and parked the RV before setting off to the airport in Phoenix to fly to Columbus to visit Eric. We arrived late but Eric was there to pick us up and took us back to his house where we had a great sleep. It was a beautiful fall day in Ohio, and Eric drove us to the Hocking Hills State Park, where we hiked to the Rock House. A ¼ mile trail leads to an opening in a cliff face with gothic-like windows and awesome views. Hocking Hills State Park is unique with so much to see, waterfalls, breathtaking cliffs, deep recess caves and forestland as far as the eye can see and there was not enough time to see it all. We headed back to Columbus where we picked up Lauren Martorano, Eric’s girlfriend, and went out for a drink. Continue reading

Return to Ohio

On October 16th we started our journey west. We stayed the night in Sturbridge Massachusetts at Yogi Bears Jellystone Park; remind me to never stay at one of these again!!!! The problem is, it is late in the season and most of the campgrounds close the end of Sept or mid Oct, so we have to stay at ones that are open all year long. We were relieved to get out of there in one piece and on to Pennsylvania. What a terrible drive through crowded truck-filled highways and traffic delays for six hours. We were happy to get to Bloomsburg, PA just off I-80 to stop for the night, at Indian Head Campground. Continue reading

Our Epic Journey Begins…Finally

On Friday, September 27th, I taught my last yoga class at LifeCenter Plus in Hudson, Ohio. It was a memorable class with all my wonderful yogis and yoginis practicing together with me for a final farewell. Then to top it off they had a surprise farewell party for me after class with spectacular vegan food and amazing gifts to send me on my way. Sharing many hugs and tears as we said goodbye, you know you will always be close to my heart. Continue reading
