We left the RV parked at Challis Hot Springs RV Park and drove to Driggs, Idaho, in the Jeep to visit with Kevin, Ericka and the kids for the 4th of July weekend. We stayed in Victor in a cabin at the Teton Valley Campground for 2 nights. The first afternoon we went to Grand Targhee Resort to go mountain biking in the Grand Targhee Bike Park, voted #2 in the top 5 Best Bike Parks in the Northwest region. Bob and opted out of the mountain biking and took the chairlift to the summit for a fantastic view of the Tetons. We took Austin with us the first time and then after lunch with Harper, they both loved the view and especially the snow still on the ground. They all had a blast mountain biking down the trails and riding the chairlift back to the top. It will be a favorite outing every year for the Jackson clan.
Saturday night we ventured out to see the Driggs Rodeo. Ericka and I and the kids went first while the guys joined us later. It was very crowded and we didn’t have great seats, but we saw the Barrel racing, which we all liked the best.
On Sunday we met up with Josh ‘n Aminda Parafinik and their boys to go floating down the Teton River for a relaxing July 4th. Harper and I were on a paddle board and we got way ahead of the rest of the group. They finally caught up with us and we continued to the take out together. The Teton River originates on the west slope of the Teton Mountains near the picturesque towns of Driggs and Victor, Idaho. It was a very mellow stretch of the Teton River suitable for a family float. The next day we left to drive back to Challis, Idaho and Kevin and family flew back to San Diego. The exciting part of the weekend for Kevin was the purchase of a 2 acre lot in Driggs with a beautiful view of the backside of the Grand Teton Range. They will be spending many wonderful times here in Driggs in the future. Click on thumbnail to view images
