Arrived in Oceanside on November 1st at Paradise by the Sea RV Resort and we have are favorite site again. Immediately we got back into pickleball at Melba Bishop and joined the Bay Club Carmel Valley, hoping to get back into shape. We also bought e-bikes and had so much fun riding to pickleball and around Oceanside. We did some new fun things with the kids this year after a wonderful Christmas with the whole family.

Winter Life in Oceanside
Disneyland
We visited Disneyland to celebrate Austin’s 3rd birthday on January 10th. We stayed the night at the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel so we could get up early and spend the whole day in the Park. The kids room had a Princess Castle bed, and they loved it. We started the day with breakfast at Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park, (Ericka had made reservations ahead, a must). It did not disappoint, we met Minnie right away and had photos taken with her, she really played the part so well. All the Disney Characters were so much fun, Chip, Dale, Fairy God Mother, Captain Hook and even the food was delicious, especially the Mickey pancakes that Austin devoured. Then we went to buy our Mickey hats where we met Goofy and got photos with him and Pluto. Next we went to meet the Princesses at the Royal Hall at Fantasy Faire, it’s housed in a storybook-worthy medieval village, and Harper and Austin were able to spend time with three Princesses. They were so excited to meet Cinderella, Snow White and Anna and were able to spend a few moments talking with them and get their photos with each one. We went on some rides but the kids loved driving the cars around the track again and again. What a fun day at this magical Park, it’s one of the Happiest Places on Earth, especially for children. Legoland
We celebrated Harper’s birthday at Legoland, in Carlsbad. Kevin, Ericka, Harper and Austin spent the night at the Legoland Hotel and we met them at the Park the next day. So much fun seeing all the amazing Lego characters and cities made all out of Legos. The kids went on a lot of fun rides that were perfect for their age. It was such a fun day for everyone!!!! Lake Elsinore
In March we had to make a trek out to Lake Elsinore, about an hour drive from Oceanside, to see the wildflower super bloom! Throngs of visitors from across Southern California converged on Walker Canyon in Lake Elsinore, where trillions of poppies burst onto the scene following the spring rainstorms. The poppies covered the hills for miles and the brilliant orange color could be viewed from space. This was a special year for the super bloom and I’m so happy that we were able to see them in person. Click on thumbnail to view images
