On October 16th we started our journey west. We stayed the night in Sturbridge Massachusetts at Yogi Bears Jellystone Park; remind me to never stay at one of these again!!!! The problem is, it is late in the season and most of the campgrounds close the end of Sept or mid Oct, so we have to stay at ones that are open all year long. We were relieved to get out of there in one piece and on to Pennsylvania. What a terrible drive through crowded truck-filled highways and traffic delays for six hours. We were happy to get to Bloomsburg, PA just off I-80 to stop for the night, at Indian Head Campground.
We arrived back in Ohio Friday night where we spent two nights in Hudson in the parking lot of Lifecenter Plus. We took care of a little business and had a chance to show Pat and Harry some of Cleveland’s highlights. The Cleveland Museum of Art was a particular hit, especially for Pat who is an artist.
On October 20th we headed to Dayton Ohio and The National Museum of the US Air Force in honor of Harry who is a pilot. There are five galleries in the museum from the Early Years, World War II, Southeast Asia War, Korean War to the Cold War. The galleries present many rare and one-of-a-kind aircraft and aerospace vehicles and thousands of historical items that chronicle the evolution of military flight from the Wright brothers to today’s stealth aircraft. It took us four hours to view all of the galleries then it was off to the Natural Springs Resort near Dayton for the night.
